The cottage is close to beautiful Green way Gardens, once home to Agatha Christie and now run by the National Trust. Sitting on the banks of the River Dart with breathtaking views it offers a lovely outing with walks around extensive grounds, restaurant and shop. Work is underway restoring the house itself and will be open to the public soon. Nearby there is a passenger ferry across the Dart to the riverside village of Dittisham with its famous Ferry Boat Inn pub/restaurant. The ferry runs on demand all year and for the return journey a large bell summons the ferry - great fun for the children as is the crabbing galore off the small pier. 6 miles to the ancient town of Totnes with many interesting shops, tearooms and riverside restaurants. The market every Friday and Saturday is a must as is a trip to the grounds of nearby Dartington Hall and the Sharpham Wine Estate. Ferry boats, steam railways, Paington Zoo are all within a short drive as is Dartmouth via car ferry. Brixham is 3m.
