The Island: Luxuriantly fertile mountains, ancient villages, Venetian monasteries, together with the bustling resorts of the south make this an island to please everyone. You can find long sandy beaches, small secluded coves, you can visit old monasteries, walk among the countryside where the smell of wild herbs is intoxicating, taking in breathtaking views of cliffs, sea and amazing sunsets. You can visit the famous Ship Wreck Bay, voted one of the top ten beaches in the world by Conde Naste Traveller, the Blue Caves or the home of the Caretta Turtle. If you are after excellent shopping, art and culture the main town of Zakynthos is certainly worth visiting. The square in the evening tends to be very lively and there are lots of restaurants to choose from where you can sit under the stars and enjoy local traditional Greek dishes. The island itself is easy to drive around and the scenery is breathtaking. If you are after more lively entertainment you will find this further south of the island
