Britons look for second homes while on holiday

Property investment abroad: 22 April 2008

Many British people are spending their holidays looking for potential property purchases, according to new research.

A study by A Place in the Sun Live revealed that holidaymakers from the UK are most likely to consider possible acquisitions while abroad.

The survey showed that 61 per cent of those from London have looked in an estate agent's window while on holiday in order to find a property.

Commenting on the findings, A Place in the Sun Live said they showed Britons are not just seeking investment opportunities overseas, as they also want sunshine and a relaxed lifestyle.

Amanda Lamb, presenter of the affiliated television programme, added: "I think more people are considering buying overseas now than before."

A recent poll by A Place in the Sun magazine found that established property markets remain the most popular locations with British buyers.

Spain came top of the list, ahead of France, Turkey and the US.
